Abstract

The main objective of the CERCOCAP project is to support farmers in their sustainable management strategy of cercosporiose through the development of innovative tools based on the modelling of epidemiological processes and the coupling with connected sensors.

Four specific objectives were defined: 

  • To better understand cercosporiose epidemics by characterising and quantifying the pathogen Cercospora sp. and its agro-climatic determinants. 
  • Reduce dependence on synthetic fungicide inputs while ensuring effective disease control through real-time monitoring of disease progression by connected sensors.
  • To define a sustainable control strategy based on a Decision Support Tool (DST) fed by models made reliable by the coupling of data from sensors. 
  • Informing the industry in real time through ADO, image processing, and an open and interconnected predictive model capable of processing mass information from multiple sources.
