Subject: Development of imaging and phenotyping methods for color assessment in red-fleshed apples
Abstract
The development of red-fleshed fruit varieties represents a new challenge in varietal selection (visual appeal, health benefits). In apples, the red color in the flesh of the fruit is not uniform, these variations are expressed by an important diversity of intensity (brightness and saturation) and distribution (coloration patterns) of the color within the fruit making the evaluation of this character complex and subjective. This presentation will focus on the development of phenotyping methods in the evaluation of apple flesh color.
